DELF B1 MASTERCLASS See the programmesProgrammes

This isn't French lessons. It's how you pass the DELF B1.

Most people fail this exam not because their French is weak, but because nobody told them what it actually rewards. This is private coaching built around one goal — the method that decodes every section, then one-to-one sessions with a qualified teacher until nothing on the day is a surprise.

Who this is for

You need the certificate. Not a new hobby.

Nobody sits the DELF B1 for fun. There is a form, a deadline and something riding on it. If one of these is you, this was built for you.

Residency

The 10-year carte de résident

Since January 2026 this card is the one that asks for B1 exactly — A2 is not enough, and B2 is more than the file needs. If this is your goal, B1 is not a stepping stone. It is the requirement.

Work

A job that wants it on paper

An employer, a professional body or a promotion that will not move without a recognised certificate. Your spoken French may already be fine; what is missing is the diploma that proves it to someone who has never met you.

Study & beyond

A programme with a language floor

Course entry, an exchange, a placement or an assistantship that sets B1 as the minimum. The DELF is a national diploma with no expiry date, so once it is done it is done — for this application and every one after it.

If you are applying for French citizenship, stop here — B1 will not do it. Naturalisation moved to B2 on 1 January 2026. You would pass this exam and still be turned down, so buy the right level rather than this one. Requirements also change and differ by country and by year: check the official source for your own situation before you book anything. Nothing on this site is legal or immigration advice.
Why capable people fail

Your French is probably fine. Your preparation isn't.

I

Everything is in French

The official material explains the exam in the language you are still learning. You end up guessing at the instructions instead of learning the method.

II

Nobody shows you the grid

Examiners mark against fixed criteria. Almost no candidate has read them, so they spend their effort on the things that earn the fewest points.

III

One weak section sinks you

You pass at 50/100 — but score under 5/25 in any single section and you fail outright, however good the rest was. Most people learn this too late.

What's inside

Five modules, every part of the exam.

Each module pairs a video lesson with the workbook you practise on. Everything downloads, and it is yours for life.

Module 1Foundation

The exam blueprint

The four sections, how each is marked, and the elimination rule that quietly fails candidates who do not know it. Then a six-week plan telling you what to do each day.

Video lesson6-week study plan
Module 2Compréhension de l'oral

Listening

How the audio is built, and the Two-Listen Strategy: what to catch on the first play, what to hunt on the second. Then two complete exams under real conditions.

Video lesson2 full listening exams6 audio recordingsAnnotated keys
Module 3Compréhension des écrits

Reading

Reading is a race against the clock. The skim-then-scan method, and how to spot the distractor answers built to trap you — including the ones that quote the text back at you.

Video lesson2 exam-style testsAnnotated keys
Module 4Production écrite

Writing

More than half the marks are for structure, not vocabulary. You get the four-paragraph frame that works for any prompt, the official grid decoded, and graded model answers.

Module 5Production orale

Speaking

The oral frightens most candidates, yet it is the most predictable section once you know its three parts. Walk through each one, with role-play cards and model answers.

Antoine L., native French teacher from Paris
Who made it

Antoine L.

Native French teacher · Paris

I am a native French speaker from Paris and I have taught international students for years. I know exactly where English speakers get stuck, and how to explain French so it finally lands.

I built this because I kept watching capable students fail the DELF B1 — not because their French was weak, but because nobody had told them, in plain English, what the exam actually rewards.

Questions

Before you buy.

Check before you pay, because the levels moved on 1 January 2026. As it stands, the multi-year residence permit asks for A2, the ten-year carte de résident asks for B1, and naturalisation now asks for B2 — so if your goal is French citizenship, this is the wrong exam and you should sit B2 instead.

Requirements differ by country and change from year to year, and this is not legal or immigration advice. Confirm your own level against the official source for your situation before booking anything.
An A2 to B1 level is ideal. If you have been learning for roughly six to twelve months, you have enough to follow the method and make real progress.
Yes. Every explanation is in English. French is what you practise — the examples, the exercises and the exam material. That is the whole point: you understand the method clearly, then apply it where it counts.
Most people finish in four to six weeks at around thirty to forty-five minutes a day. The included study plan lays that out day by day — but there is no schedule to keep up with, so go faster or slower as your exam date requires.
For life, including every update to the method at no extra cost. The workbooks and audio files are downloadable, so they are yours to keep whatever happens.
It prepares you for the standard DELF B1, which is valid worldwide for any session date — the format and criteria are the same wherever you sit it.
You are never locked in, but a month already billed is not returned. Coaching is a monthly subscription: cancel whenever you like, from your Payhip account or by writing to us, and the next payment simply does not happen. There is no notice period and no exit fee.

What we do not refund is the month you are in — the method is delivered in full the moment you join, and sessions hold real time in a real calendar. Unused sessions roll over while you are subscribed, and the method stays yours permanently even if you leave after one month. This does not affect any rights or refunds required by applicable law. See the Refund Policy.
