Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data DELF B1 Masterclass collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to be read — not to be skimmed past.

Who is responsible for your data

DELF B1 Masterclass is operated by Antoine L., a native French teacher, through a business established in Indonesia. For any question about this policy or about your data, write to contact@delfmasterclass.com — that address reaches a real person, not a ticketing queue.

Which law applies

The business is established in Indonesia, and Indonesian data protection law — Law No. 27 of 2022 — applies to it.

Because the course is offered to people in the European Union and the United Kingdom, the GDPR applies to that processing as well. The rights set out further down are given on that basis, and they are not reduced by the fact that we are outside Europe.

What we collect, and why

We never sell your data, and we do not run advertising trackers on this site.

Emails we send you

Downloading the cheat sheet or buying the course does not by itself put you on a mailing list. Whether you join depends on where you are, because the law differs:

• In the European Union and the United Kingdom, you are added only if you tick the consent box at checkout. Leave it unticked and you receive nothing beyond the file or course you asked for.
• Everywhere else, Payhip adds you automatically, which is the norm in those jurisdictions. Either way the list itself is held by MailerLite, below. You can leave at any time, and the paragraph below applies to you exactly as it does to everyone else.

The list is used for study tips and news about the course. It is never sold, never rented, and never shared with anyone else. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing is immediate — you do not have to explain yourself, and it does not affect access to anything you have already bought.

Analytics and cookies

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits. It is switched off by default: no analytics cookie is written and no data is sent to Google until you press Accept on the banner. If you press Decline, or simply ignore the banner, analytics stays off and the site works exactly the same.

Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage under the key cookieConsent. To change your mind, clear your browser storage for this site and the banner will appear again.

Services we rely on

Running the site means a few third parties necessarily see some data. Here is the complete list:

• GitHub Pages — hosts this website. It processes your IP address in its server logs, as any web host does.
• Payhip — sells and delivers the coaching plans and the method. Payhip acts as the seller of record: it collects your payment details and billing country and handles VAT. Your card details never reach us — we only see that a payment was made, and your name and email. When you join the mailing list, Payhip passes your name and email address to MailerLite, below.
  
  The free cheat sheet is delivered by a Payhip checkout that opens on this site, so Payhip's checkout script loads on the home page for every visitor, not only for buyers. Buying a coaching plan takes you to Payhip's own checkout page. That means Payhip can see that a browser opened the page, in the same way any embedded script can. It is loaded on the home page alone; no other page carries it.
• MailerLite — holds the mailing list and sends the emails. It stores your name and email address, and records whether you opened a message or clicked a link in it, so we can tell which emails are worth writing. MailerLite acts on our instructions only, under a data processing agreement, and never uses your address for its own purposes.
  
  For readers in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the service is provided by MailerLite Limited, an Irish company, and the subscriber data is stored in the European Union. Of everything on this page, the mailing list is the part that stays closest to home.
• Stripe — processes the payment on Payhip's behalf.
• Google Analytics — usage statistics, only after you consent.
• Google Fonts — the typefaces used on this site are served by Google, which means your IP address is visible to Google when the page loads.
• Google Calendar / Google Workspace — used to book 1-to-1 sessions and to receive email.

The business itself is in Indonesia, and several of the providers above are in the United States. Indonesia is not covered by a European Commission adequacy decision, so if you are in the EU or the UK you should know that your data is handled outside the protection such a decision would give. Where providers offer them, transfers rely on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep things

• Analytics data: 14 months, then deleted automatically by Google.
• Payment and subscription records: as long as the tax and accounting law of the country where the business is established requires. Payhip holds the transaction and billing record as seller of record.
• Emails: as long as our conversation is useful, then deleted.
• Mailing list: until you unsubscribe, after which your address is removed from MailerLite.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the GDPR gives you the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how it is used, and to receive it in a portable format. You can also withdraw your consent to analytics, or to the mailing list, at any time — which does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these, email contact@delfmasterclass.com. We will reply within one month. If you are not satisfied with the response, you may complain to the data protection authority of the country you live in — in the United Kingdom that is the Information Commissioner's Office, and in the European Union it is your own national authority.

Children

This course is aimed at adults and older teenagers preparing for the DELF B1. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 15. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes will be announced on the site.
